DIFF is an online text comparison tool. It works directly in your browser.
By leveraging client-side processing, the utility facilitates the identification of discrepancies between dual textual iterations-be they code, articles, or generic documents-while simultaneously rendering added and deleted fragments through color-coded highlighting at both line and character levels, thereby streamlining the review of edits and version control.
Three additional settings are available for more precise comparison. Ignoring spaces, line breaks, capitalization, and punctuation marks is supported. This is especially useful when comparing texts where the formatting may differ slightly, but the meaning remains the same.
To use the text comparison tool, simply paste two texts into the appropriate fields and click the button to begin a lightning-fast comparison with detailed statistics on matches, deletions, and additions. Registered users can also add texts to their history.
