Online Sound Check is a tool for testing headphones, speakers and other acoustics directly in the browser, without installing additional programs. With it, you can quickly make sure that the left and right channels are not mixed up, the sound is played evenly on both sides, and panning works correctly.

The test is based on the Web Audio API: a rotating knob allows you to smoothly move sound between the left and right channels, and depth and height sliders add surround sound positioning using the HRTF (Head-Related Transfer Function) model, which simulates how the human ear perceives sound from different directions. The signal strength indicator shows the playback intensity in real time.

This check is useful when buying new headphones or speakers, after connecting the speakers to a computer or TV, or if the sound seems unbalanced and you need to understand what the reason is - in the equipment or in the settings. The tool will also be useful for gamers and music lovers who want to check how well their device transmits surround sound.
